It is not inevitable, or even desirable, that we form a belief one way or the other. Having belief grants no-one privileged status. Those who can't approach discussion with a basic level of intelligence and maturity shouldn't expect to be taken seriously. If you have difficulty accepting that other people don't share your beliefs, then that's unfortunate for you, because there's a lot of difference out there.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure in the wrong, fundamentalist ontrol-freaks hands even something as innoent as this could be dangerous. I think it's the person having the revelation more than the thought itself.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite chuffed about the sensible logic this statement shows. She has put together what she knows about the world (that underarms tickle and monkeys seem to always be touching their underarms and always giggling)and come up with a perfetly reasonable conclusion! And she's only 6!
